Things To Do in January and February in Jackson Hole

No doubt about it: Ski season is in full swing in Jackson Hole during the months of January and February. But there are other winter pastimes and events available for you and your family to experience while you’re in the Tetons.

Here is our round-up of what’s going on.

Ongoing: “Feathered Fridays” at the Jackson Hole and Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center on Cache Street from noon-2 p.m. every Friday. The program features naturalists and educators from the Raptor Center and the National Elk Refuge, along with a variety of live raptors on the glove. There is no beginning, middle or end to this free program during the two hours.  Call 800-772-5386 or visit  

Also on Fridays: Free Wyoming Stargazing program at Center for the Arts – From 7:30-9:30 p.m. on the lawn outside the Center, astronomers from Wyoming Stargazing will have a Dobsonian telescope to look at planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies and more! There will also be several iPads with the Star Walk application installed. –

Ongoing: Ice skating on Town Square! Rent a pair of skates for $10 at the Stage Stop Building on the square and experience the novelty of skating in the middle of downtown; free if you have your own skates. Hours: 4:30-9 p.m. Wednesday to Friday; noon-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

9: Free Public Planetarium Program – A free, indoor virtual tour of the solar system, offered by Wyoming Stargazing inside its inflatable planetarium at the Teton County Library auditorium. From 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. –

19: The Met-Live in HD: “Nabucco,” at the Center for the Arts – Presented by the Grand Teton Music Festival. The legendary baritone Placido Domingo adds another title role at the Met under the baton of Music Director Emeritus James Levine. 7 p.m. –

23: National Theatre Live’s Encore Series – “One Man, Two Guvnors,” featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from host of the “The Late Late Show,” James Corden. The show was a runaway hit both in London’s West End and on Broadway.  7 p.m.-

Jan 26: Down Under the Tram: Australia Day – Celebrate Australia Day at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort! Free beer, while it lasts. Aussie tunes and great giveaways too! 4 to 6 p.m. in Teton Village Commons.

27: International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race – This family-friendly event will feature sled dogs, mushers, refreshments and fireworks, right in the middle of Jackson Town Square! –

29, 2017/ The Moth Mainstage: High Anxiety –  

WinterFest – A two-week festival that lets you enjoy a variety of different snowy activities, from the exciting Shriners Club Cutter Races to skijoring (pictured)
